Fancy a listen?
I enjoy a bit of songwriting and finally made it into a studio to record one of my tracks.

Not sure what to do with it now, so I thought I might as well post it on here for expert review. If anyone likes it and uses social media, would appreciate any shares or mentions of it. Cheers all!

WHUDeano, it has a very Richard Ashcroft type of feel.to it..its not bad at all. I don't know which region you live in but worth checking out your local.BBC Station. BbC Tees does a show called Introducing where it showcases new local.acts. Might be worth seeing if your local station does something similar.

Good luck.

Re: Fancy a listen?
Good stuff, really like the chorus hook. However, surely Micky Gunn is better than Michael Gunn...

Guitar playing / recording needs a little more focus. Isolated the way you have recorded it highlights everything.

Re: Fancy a listen?
Like it, reminds me of The Coral a bit, which is a good thing! Love the whistling!
IF I had to make one criticism it would be to pad out the lyrics in the chorus a bit rather than just repeating the same line but apart from that, choonage.

Re: Fancy a listen?
Mate if I called myself Micky my mum would murder me! Cheers all the feedback so far though, much appreciated. I've just had a look at the BBC music thing and does sound interesting, one thing for sure - the whole scene has certainly changed a lot since I last recorded in 2005 and just chucked it all on MySpace and CD's!

WHUDeano 5:08 Fri Jun 9 You have to be social media whore now to get anywhere. Tik Tok is the best platform to get traction but it is hard work. My son is in the music business and it's bloody non stop self promotion.

Yeah I figured that’s probably how it all is now, I’ve got no interest in social media at all, I have a FB page but nothing else. If people like the song hopefully they’ll share it and it can grow from there because I doubt I’ll ever be on any of the other platforms. WHO & the odd browse of Facebook is more than enough for me!

Getting pretty good traction on the different platforms it’s on so thanks to all who have taken the time to listen

Re: Fancy a listen?
Enjoyed that Michael; I like the whistling, too! There's a platform at groover.co which is quite a useful way to promote your music. Got quite a few plays on Radio, etc from having campaigns on there. Best of luck with the song!

Re: Fancy a listen?
Decent enough.

Your voice has got a bit of Chris Martin to it.

It kind of sounds like it would've been around early 2000's and is in the Kooks / Athlete / Pigeon Detectives mould.

Great effort in producing it. Massive achievement.

Nice one Michael. Nice to have a fellow musician on here!

Here's a track I released a few years back now. For fans of retro/fuzz guitar. Be good to have a little corner on here where people can share their tracks..

Re: Fancy a listen?
Thanks for all the positive comments, it's looking like I'll be getting a play on that BBC Music Introducing feature at some point which will be great. Don't suppose they have had many 40 year old blokes with 3 little kids have music played on there!

I had a look at that groover website, seems like quite a powerful concept, I'm just not sure who would be best to reach out to on there. I'll have a proper look at it after work later. Cheers again to all those who have given it a listen!
